花鳥風月(kachofugetsu) : Literally, 花(ka)=flower; (鳥)cho=birds; 風(fu)=wind; 月(getsu)=moon Figuratively, the distilled aspects of nature enjoyed by haikuists and Japanese in general; not the wilderness as is. "花鳥諷詠(Kachofuei)" refers to the act of composing haiku or tanka about kachofugetsu.
